WELCOME TO THE CITY OF DUMAI

Golf Course. The origins of golf is not known exactly. Some historians belief that it originates from Yunan, where they would hit stones with their sticks. Golf today is a favourite past time. Golf is also an entertaining spectator sport where there are many tournaments being held. In Dumai there are two golf courses which are owned by Pertamina with 18 holes and owned by Chevron with 9 holes. Upon arrival in Dumai, try playing golf at Bukit Datuk course. It is open to everyone. It is fun and exciting.

Dumai Raya Mosque is a mosque that is the pride of the city of Dumai. It offers unique architecture that is attractive, majestic and serene. For visitors who are keen on religious visits, you can visit the mosque to achieve tranquility and heavenly deeds.

Pesanggrahan Putri Tujuh ( seven Princesses tomb ) is located in Partamina UPII Dumai factory operation area. Normally a tomb has only one person. The seven princesses tomb (putri tujuh) has seven princesses in it. According to the legend of Dumai, seven princesses were buried together when the enemy was attacking. The Queen hide the seven princesses in a hole. The hole was covered and soil was put on it. Without the Queen realization the seven princesses were buried alive. That is why the seven princesses were placed in one tomb.

Makmur Bay is located to the north of Dumai City. It has natural persona in the form of the beach and Malay village that is directly apposite to Pulau Rupat (Rupat Island) and Malacca straits. It has huge tourism potential for family recreation as we can surf, canoe and sun tan in beautiful environment and setting. In addition there is an old house with Malay architecture.

Dumai Port is situated on the east and north parts of Dumai city, face to face directly with Malacca Strait and Rupat Island. This Dumai Port is one of crowded port visited by many large vessels both domestically and overseas, and we can see may port activities, such as loading and unloading of various kinds of export and import commodities. It is also very often at this port, warships owned by TNI AL (Indonesian National Navy) anchoring and we can also board in and see the content of that warship. At night we can see the remarkable sea scenery illuminated by lights from many ships as well as from Dumai city itself.

Swimming Pool. For those who have the swimming hobby, Dumai has several spots that is Bukit Datuk swimming pool, owned by Pertamina, Bukit Jin swimming pool, owned by PT. CPI and Simanalagi swimming pool in Baganbesar. All those swimming pools can be visited by all people, equipped with various supportive facilities, especially for families, so making the visitors with their families love to linger around during their visit.

Fishing Pond. In Dumai city there are two fishing ponds, those are “Idola Fishing Pond” located at Jalan Bukit Timah and “Patra Fishing Pond” located at Jalan Bukit Datuk, with various types of fishes. At any spare times, many visitors having fishing hobby visit this spot. At certain times such as during weekends fishing competition is held for the visitors.

Dumai Tourism Lake. It is one of natural tourism objects interesting to be visited. With your families and relatives, you can free yourself for a time from various tiresome activities.
