Natural Cave

Elephant Cave. Visitors to Ubud might enjoy visiting one of the most famous landmarks in the area, the elephant cave at Goa Gajah. Located 2kms to the SE, Goa Gajah draws visitors, from overseas as well as other parts of Indonesia, as well as local worshipers.

From Ubud head for Bedulu and look out for the obvious ‘tourist object’ indicated by the crowd of people around. The beauty of stalagmite and stalagtite is hardly make surprise immortalized by Selo Cengger Bumi named, Cello Giri, Selo Citro Cipto Agung, Cello Pakuan Bomo, Cello Adi Citro Buwono, Cello Bantaran Angin and Cello Susuh Angin.

Jatijajar Cave. It is located for about 42 Km to the south west of Kebumen. The legend inside the cave describing about the legend of Raden Kamandaka or lutung kasarung legend. The length of this cave is about 250 meters.


There are also another beautiful cave in the area of Jatijajar cave, such as, Intan Cave and Dempok cave completed by a pleasure park and Kera Island.

Jombang Cave. What make something interesting of this cave is the visitors must pass a real footpath complicated length and must take a ride the stones on the cave’s wall before reaching the cave. This journey is very compatible for visitor who loving nature and like challenge, because along the length of journey, they will pampered by the greenness of natural forest which so friendly and although on the left and right side is crevasses, but it is not fearful.

Sigolo Golo cave, is located in Sranten sub-village, Panglungan village, Wonosalam district, Jombang. It can reached using motorcycle or car, but to come to the cave, we go on foot. The cave which has 9 meters length and 10 meters width, for its development is very frequent visited because the uniquely and its history value.

Kiskendo Cave. Some 35 kilometres at northwest side of Yogyakarta, on a hill at the northern side of Kulon Progo Regency, a small fine asphalt road leads to Kiskendo Cave. Only a small kind of four-wheeled vehicles can reach the cave. Those who visit the cave with a bus must leave the vehicle at Niten Village, close to Giri Mulyo sub-district office, about 8 kilometres from the cave.

On the way to the cave, visitors may enjoy the charming scenery along the windy road. Valleys, green farmland, and simple rural traditional houses reflect the traditional atmosphere in which the people live. Entering the Kiskendo Cave, visitors will be greeted by wonderful stalactites and stalagmites like limestone do mostly have. According to the legend, the natural shape of the cave was once the palace of two giants by the names of Mahesa Suro and Lembu Suro who were defeated by Subali as portrayed in the relief at the front of the cave.

Kreo Cave. Kreo Cave has an area of 135 ha and is 350 m above sea level.It is located in the village of Sadeng, Gunungpati Semarang not far from Ungaran, Semarang Regency. Topographically,the hilly and cool weather is very beautiful. Some Christians use it as a place to contemmplate. Many wild familiar monkeys live here and has become a unique scene itself.

Lawa Cave. Goa Lawa is cave on the foot of Mt. Slamet, 27 km to the north of Purbalingga. Located 900 meter above sea level, the air is naturally cool and it offers panoramic, mountain view.

Liang Bua is located in the Wae Racang Valley on the western end of the tiny island of Flores in Indonesia. The stratified site deposits are 12 meters in depth, and within the deposits have been found both modern humans and the hominin remains somewhat controversially called "Homo floresiensis".

Petruk Cave. It is located for about 7 Km to the south of Jatijajar Cave. Petruk is derrived from a name of Pandawa loyal follower. It is a very enchantment cave. The drops of lime water sounds like a continously and unstopply noise.

The main cave is about 150 meters long; the widest point is about 15 to 20 meters.

Putrimaharani Cave. Aris Wibawa, director for maritime tourism in Lamongan, East Java, has explained about a new concept about integrating Putri Maharani cave and other maritime tourism sites.

“We will set up a sky lift,” he told Tempo last week. The site is located on Jalan Daendels on the north route between the cities of Tuban, Lamongan, and Gresik. It has already become a new icon for modern maritime tourism sites in the region.

Seplawan Cave. Lies in the height of 700 m above sea level, Seplawan Cave is a an original natural cave, located in Donorejo Village, kaligesing Subdistrict, about 20 km to the east from centre of Purworejo.

Seplawan cave has specific ornament inside such as stalagtites and stalagmites, flow stone. helectides, soda straw, gouwer dam and carved wall which appear as fish skelton.The environment is very beautiful with its natural scenery and flora moss, completed with pine forest panorama.

Tabuhan Cave. According to the public story around, Tabuhan cave has found by Kyai Santiko who lost his ox but finnaly the ox was come to a cave. His ox didn't want to out from the cave, because it save many water from the root on it. After the brushwood has cleaned, the cave was taken care by Raden Bagus Joko Lelono and a princess Raden Ayu Mardilah.

Tabuhan Cave is on the southwest coast East Java, is the emmense interior of Tabuhan cave. This cave called Tabuhan because it sounds like local musicians play tunes by striking lomesone stalactites that resound in perfect pitch to the music.

Terawang Cave. This is a time stone cave with stalagtites and stalagmites decoration in it which lies in the middle of Blora teak forest.The cnatgural cave recreation was developed by an erosion and dissolution of rain water on limestone for thousand s of year and visitgor may also see the familiar monkey.The distance of this location is about 35 km from Blora Town.

The Terawang caves (Goa Terawang, there are six of them) are situated in a teak forest at 170 m elevation. Even in the dry season the air is relatively cool here.
The roof of the main cave has collapsed in places, therefore you can walk from lighted space to lighted space even without a torchlight.
