
Kreo Cave is a small cave which trusted as petilasan Sunan Kalijogo for looking teak to build Grand Mosque Demak. At the time according to legend of Sunan Kalijogo meet with monkey flock which then ordered them to take care of the teak. Word "Kreo" come from word "Mangreho" which mean looking after or taking care. This word then make this cave called as Kreo cave and since then folk of monkey which dwell in this area considered to be watchman. Besides enjoying view of nature and cold air and also meet with monkey watchman in this area, visitor also able to enjoy chilling and fresh river stream in this area underside.
There is actually no big cave but small one. It is situated at a small hill with steep canyon on its side. You can enjoy the natural beauty and fascinating panorama with picturesque hill, river, waterfall and terraces rice field. The hill is also dwelt by tame monkey and it seems to have been familiar with visitor. It lies at Kandri village - Gunungpati sub-district and can be reached by public mini bus which connects Semarang - Goa Kreo - Gunungpati.
