
Tasik Ardi lake, believed to have been a place of seclusion for Banten's sultans and a source of fresh water for the community, is one such example.The landscape and buildings surrounding the lake are a rich blend of Hindu and Islamic architecture. The gate to the lake was built in the form of a Bentar, a style of Hindu architecture.
According to the history of Lake Tasikardi artificial lake is a relic of relics Panembahan Sultanate of Banten, Maulana Yusuf. Tasikardi own
name derived from two words, namely, that means LAKES lake, and Ardi artificial means. The base around the 5-hectare lake is coated by a brick tile. Perhaps, this lake was used the sultan and his family as a place to rest. Although an artificial lake, the lake water was not receding or spill.
Owing to historical background and uniqely, the lake is now frequently visited by people around. The beauty of this lake can be enjoyed from the leafy trees in this area or while fishing in the rand and in the middle of the lake. In the middle of Lake Tasikardi, there is a small island wide 44 x 44 square meters. With rent a boat from the lake, visitors can visit the island and witnessed some relic Sultanate of Banten, such as water catchment pond, of, and a special family room sultan.
Located at Margasana village, it is a part of anarchaeological complex of Old Banten. In the centre of the lake there are square formed “islands”. During the period of the Kingdom of Banten, Tasikardi used irrigation for the ricefields and as a water treatment system for the Surosowan Palace.
Tasikardi Lake is at Margasana village, Kramatwatu district which is a part of arceological complex of Old Banten.
